50 Cent, Soulja Boy Reveal Mutual Admiration In XXL

'If I had the wish to be another artist ... it would be Soulja Boy,' Fif says.

50 Cent and Soulja Boy Tell'em might seem like an unlikely pair but the two appear on the cover of XXL magazine's November issue — even if you can't quite see Fif's face.

"I'm more comfortable in a space where people are doubting me than when I'm the favorite," 50, who dons a white mask for the cover, told the mag. "They doubted me before. Obviously, I was the only crazy person that believed in me at one point."

Meanwhile, Soulja Boy, who recently endured rumors about alleged drug use, said he's still trying to navigate the music-industry ropes, despite his status as a rap prodigy in some circles.

"I'm still learning," Soulja Boy said. "I've been through a lot this year, and it's nothing I expected. I just wanna rap, and I wake up and have some sh-- on me, out the blue, every single day. But, really, all it does is feed my ego."

So why does 20-year-old Soulja relate his struggle to that of Queens' finest?

"Being black with money, from the 'hood, struggles and coming from nothing to something, of course you're going to share the common struggles," the young MC said. "You going to have people hate. You going to have people that change on you, and all that. So of course, watching 50, and him going through what he did — if there wasn't no 50 Cent, there would be no Soulja Boy."

The admiration is mutual.

"If I had the wish to be another artist, just for right now, it would be Soulja Boy," 50 revealed.

While word of a 50/Soulja collabo hasn't surfaced yet, 50 Cent may have a collaboration with former rival Kanye West, according to G-Unit's Lloyd Banks. One can only hope for a truly G.O.O.D. Friday.

Are you surprised that 50 and Soulja Boy are fans of each other's work? Tell us in the comments!

The full list of nominees for the 2010 American Music Awards were announced Tuesday (October 12) in Los Angeles, and, much like he's done for most of the year, Eminem stands head and shoulders above the rest.

Em is up for five awards at the 2010 AMAs, tied with country juggernauts Lady Antebellum for the most of any artist. Justin Bieber scored four nods, while B.o.B, Katy Perry, Ke$ha and Usher are each up for three. Lady Gaga, the Black Eyed Peas, Rihanna and Drake are also nominated in various categories.

Eminem is nominated in both the Favorite Male Artist - Pop or Rock (up against Bieber and Usher) and Hip-Hop categories and Artist of the Year (where he'll face off against Gaga, Perry, Bieber and Ke$ha). His massively successful Recovery disc is also up for Favorite Album - Rap or Hip-Hop. Bieber's four nods are for Favorite Male - Pop or Rock, Artist of the Year and Breakthrough Artist of the Year. My World 2.0 is also in the running for Album of the Year - Pop or Rock.

AMA nominees are selected from BigChampagne's Ultimate Chart, which ranks the most popular artists and songs based on a weighted combination of music sales, radio and TV broadcast, Internet streaming and video viewing and "additional online metrics," including social-media activity.

Winners will be determined by online voting, at AMAVote.com; voting is now under way in all categories.

The 38th annual AMAs will be broadcast live from the Nokia Theatre in L.A. on Sunday, November 21, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.

Golf Notebook: Tiger Woods on the Mend

The Chevron World Challenge, played in early December at Sherwood CC in Southern California, is Tiger Woods' event, held annually to benefit his youth foundation.

Everybody knows why he was a no-show for last year's competition. Only a few days before tournament week, Woods wrecked his SUV in Florida, taking out a fire hydrant -- and a lot of dirty laundry spilled out.

The father of two young children now is divorced and hasn't won a golf tournament since. That made Woods' media day appearance via satellite this week particularly interesting.

"Certainly, I'm a lot more at peace now," Woods said. "Everyone's getting used to the new living conditions. The kids are adjusting. I think everyone's certainly more at peace, and so am I, too.

"I learned a lot about myself, and I learned how things went wrong, why they went wrong and had to take a pretty deep and introspective look at myself. And there weren't a lot of things I liked about it. But I had to do it, and I did it and (am) grateful that I did. I think that I come from a much better place, much more grounded place now than I ever have before."

Lady Gaga Buys Back Auction Items

Demo CDs and DVDs of old performances are pulled from auction of music memorabilia.

Sorry, little monsters — your opportunity to own a relic from Lady Gaga's early days is no longer an option. Gaga's former manager, Bob Leone, and the memorabilia house Gotta Have It! are pulling the CDs and DVDs from Gaga's pre-The Fame career that were part of their "Rock & Roll Pop Culture Auction."

According to a press release, Gaga's management will buy the items for an undisclosed sum; a visit to the auction's website shows the lots have been removed.

Items up for auction included a demo CD from 2002, a copy of the 2005 CD "Stefani Germanotta," another CD from 2005 titled "Stefani Germanotta Band, Words," an original Lady Gaga disc from 2006, a 2006 CD called "Stefani Red and Blue" and a DVD containing a 2006 Gaga performance at the On Stage Italian Artists showcase.

"She was painfully shy — very different from who she is now," Leone said earlier this month in an interview with People. "She came to the open mics with her mother twice before she built up the courage to go onstage. ... She was prodigy-like. She was clearly a very good songwriter and keyboard player."

Leone, who worked with Gaga in the early years of her career, recalled that the superstar went through one very important transformation in 2006. "It was a very important six months because going into it, she was Stefani, and she was still writing pop music. By the end of that six-month period, she was officially Lady Gaga.

Even four years ago, Gaga knew exactly what she wanted. "Whenever someone asked her, 'what is your goal?' she would always give the same two-word answer: 'world domination,' " he remembered. "She's got it [now]!"

Are you bummed that rare Lady Gaga items were removed from the auction? Tell us in the comments!

Britney Spears Remains Under Conservatorship

Conservatorship has been in place since February 2008.

On Thursday (September 30), Britney Spears met with a judge in Los Angeles to discuss the current status of her conservatorship, which she has been under since February 2008.

TMZ reports that Judge Reva Goetz had requested a meeting with the pop star after the judge had discussed ending the conservatorship with Spears' lawyers at the last few status meetings.

Spears' father, Jamie Spears, was also present in the judge's chambers during the progress meeting. He left the courtroom minutes after Britney, who wore a black dress and black ankle boots.

It was decided that Spears would remain under her conservatorship, according to TMZ. The judge took the stand to announce: "At this time, all orders will remain in full force and effect." The decision came after she met with Spears and her father individually. The judge did give the OK to approve "investment strategies" for Britney's trust; a petition had been filed regarding that matter.

While there seems to be no change in Spears' personal life, she has certainly been a force to be reckoned with since she released her 2008 album Circus. She's managed to once again top the charts, mount a successful tour and even try her hand at acting. This week alone she brought some star power to "Glee," which tackled her hit-filled catalog, including "Me Against the Music."

Much has been rumored about what Spears is working on as far as a follow-up to Circus. After it was reported that Spears might release new music sometime this year, her manager, Adam Leber, was quick to clear the air.

"No new music news right now....Wish people wouldn't mislead you guys with BS info," he wrote on Twitter in August. "Not cool! PS- The guys that ARE working on Brit's next album ARE NOT talking about it..."
