On Thursday (September 30), Britney Spears met with a judge in Los Angeles to discuss the current status of her conservatorship, which she has been under since February 2008.
TMZ reports that Judge Reva Goetz had requested a meeting with the pop star after the judge had discussed ending the conservatorship with Spears' lawyers at the last few status meetings.
Spears' father, Jamie Spears, was also present in the judge's chambers during the progress meeting. He left the courtroom minutes after Britney, who wore a black dress and black ankle boots.
It was decided that Spears would remain under her conservatorship, according to TMZ. The judge took the stand to announce: "At this time, all orders will remain in full force and effect." The decision came after she met with Spears and her father individually. The judge did give the OK to approve "investment strategies" for Britney's trust; a petition had been filed regarding that matter.
While there seems to be no change in Spears' personal life, she has certainly been a force to be reckoned with since she released her 2008 album Circus. She's managed to once again top the charts, mount a successful tour and even try her hand at acting. This week alone she brought some star power to "Glee," which tackled her hit-filled catalog, including "Me Against the Music."
Much has been rumored about what Spears is working on as far as a follow-up to Circus. After it was reported that Spears might release new music sometime this year, her manager, Adam Leber, was quick to clear the air.
"No new music news right now....Wish people wouldn't mislead you guys with BS info," he wrote on Twitter in August. "Not cool! PS- The guys that ARE working on Brit's next album ARE NOT talking about it..."

'Justin's a rapper now, so he's gonna be goin' in,' the Young Money MC teases about return of Shawty Mane.

Justin Bieber already showed fans his fledgling MC skills as Shawty Mane. Now the Biebs may be donning his rap cap again, according to Lil Twist. The Young Money rapper says he's working on a mixtape with the pop star.
"It's in the works," Twist told Neon Limelight. "We got a few records done, and every time we talk, we actually talk about this mixtape."
So what will fans find on the mixtape?
"We recently did 'Billionaire' by Travis McCoy and Bruno Mars," Twist explained. "We did that over with our own words, like a remix. That's how we're gonna do the majority of the mixtape, with other people's records and just me freestyling over it. And Justin's a rapper now, so he's gonna be goin' in."
Bieber has said he's open to playing Shawty Mane again. "I thought it was fun, I like rapping," Bieber recently told MTV News. "Maybe in the future, Shawty Mane will come back.
The singer also recalled how he came up with the name for his MC alter ego. "I don't know, me and my friends were just messing around and they were like, 'Shawty Mane,' and I was like, 'Yeah, that'll be my nickname.' Shawty Mane is just like a funny character. You know, Justin Bieber is not a rapper, and it would just be lame if I came out rapping. It's lame anyway because I'm like a pop singer, but I thought it was funny, I just did it as a joke. It wasn't like anything serious."
What do you think about Justin and Lil Twist working on a mixtape? Let us know in the comments!

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- A day before Rickie Fowler's opening round 6-under par 66 Thursday in the Children's Miracle Network Classic at Disney World, kids lined up, waiting for the PGA Tour rookie to walk past on his way to the driving range, ready to thrust assorted items -- golf balls, programs, caps -- in his direction, hoping for an autograph. Some, a bit more bold, voiced requests for him to stop for pictures. Fowler was accommodating. The 21-year-old stopped, signed, posed and even chatted. The youngsters all but swooned, many of the boys sporting the Fowler look: shaggy hair and over-sized, bucket-like cap turned backward. Then Fowler did the darnedest thing: He thanked each of the young followers for their interest and support. The former junior motocross racer with a home-grown golf swing, wacky wardrobe and bad need of a haircut may be a square peg in the round hole that is the PGA Tour, but whatever "it'' is, Fowler has it by the truckload. "It's pretty cool," Fowler said Thursday, recalling previous day's practice range scene. "I definitely like to have fans. I like to have an influence on other people, and definitely like to draw new fans in. "I guess I have more of a draw to the younger crowd. And it's always cool to see more and more kids showing up and getting their interest in golf up." His impact has been sudden. A year ago Fowler wasn't even a member of the PGA Tour. Now he has earned more than $2.6 million on the strength of two runner-up finishes and six top-10s. He became the first rookie to ever play on the U.S. Ryder Cup team, and responded with stellar play.

Each week, Monday Movers will look back on the previous week in the golf world to see whose stock is rising and who will likely be heading back to the range. On the Rise Lee Westwood -- For the first time in 281 weeks, someone other than Tiger Woods sits atop the world rankings. The Englishman becomes the first European to hold the No. 1 spot since Nick Faldo did so in 1994. What's most surprising about the accomplishment is that it comes despite Westwood only finishing one tournament since his runner-up finish at the British Open in July. German Martin Kaymer missed his opportunity to deny Westwood and claim that spot for himself after failing to finish in the top two at the Andalucia Valderrama Masters this weekend. Nationwide Top 25 -- The Nationwide Tour Championship provided the last opportunity for players battling to finish in the top 25 on the money list and earn a PGA Tour card for 2011. The finish did not disappoint. Brendan Steele's playoff victory catapulted him from 30th to 6th. He and three others moved from outside the top 25 to Nationwide graduates in the final week. Jamie Lovemark, 22, finished first in a race that saw just $2,010 separate the 25th and 26th places. Ben Crane -- The American might become a trivia answer one day after winning the first PGA Tour-sanctioned event in Southeast Asia. His 18-under finish was enough to hold off England's Brian Davis by a stroke. Although the Asia Pacific Classic doesn't count as an official PGA Tour victory, Crane still took home a $1 million first prize and heads to Shanghai for the HSBC Champions next week. Graeme McDowell -- No one has enjoyed a breakout year in 2010 more than McDowell. The 31-year-old added a second European Tour victory to a season resume that includes U.S. Open champion, a Ryder Cup-clinching singles win, and now his first top-10 world ranking. The year could get even better for McDowell. He sits second in the Race for Dubai and has narrowed the gap behind Martin Kaymer. "I'm very excited," McDowell said. "I've punched a bit of a hole in Martin's lead and I'll go to Shanghai now and look to give him a run for his money."
